Bart Cantz was a nineteenth century catcher who managed to play three seasons in the majors despite hitting under .200 and making 40 errors in 56 games at catcher.

In 1888, when he came up, he was 28 years old and hit .167. The starting catcher, Chris Fulmer, hit .187. Fulmer made 30 errors in 45 games at the position. The next year Bart hit .174 while the starting catcher, Pop Tate, hit .182. Tate made 25 errors in 62 games.

In 1890, the year of 3 leagues, he appeared in 5 games for the 1890 Philadelphia Athletics, where the starting catcher Wilbert Robinson, hit .237.

He also played in the minors in the Eastern League, the Western Association and the International Association.
