Barry Moore pitched the only complete game shutout of his career on April 30, 1967 as a member of the Washington Senators against the Minnesota Twins. He pitched a one-hitter walking 2 and striking out none. The only hit was a 6th inning single by Cesar Tovar.
On June 16, 1961, pitching for his Rowan, NC American Legion team against Concordia, Moore struck out 24 batters, including the last 18 outs of the game. He pitched a no-hitter later that same season, against Thomasville, NC in the Legion playoffs.
Moore was the first major leaguer out of Pfeiffer University, where he attended at the same time as Billy Wynne.
