Ball State University, located in Muncie, IN is most famously the alma mater of David Letterman. Other alumni include big leaguers Merv Rettenmund, Thomas Howard, and Larry Bigbie. In 2002, the Pittsburgh Pirates selected Ball State pitcher Bryan Bullington with the first overall pick in the draft.
