Avon is a small town in northwestern Connecticut with two high schools that have produced Juan Nieves and Dick McAuliffe. The two schools are Avon High School and Avon Old Farms. Avon Old Farms is a boarding school with students from all over the country and is one of the top high school baseball teams in the northeast on a yearly basis. Several players from the town of Avon have gone on to play collegiate and professional baseball.
