[edit] Biographical Information

Austin Adams is currently a pitcher in the Cleveland Indians farm system.

Adams was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 27th round (818th overall) of the 2008 Amateur Draft as a shortstop. He decided to stay in college, and looking back on his decision, he feels that it was the right one: "Returning for my final year allowed me to increase my strength in the weight room and to mature a bit more on the field." Adams also concentrated more on pitching during his senior year and also pitched for the Hyannis Mets which ended up improving his draft status the following year.

In the 2009 Amateur Draft, he was picked in the 5th round (155th overall) by the Indians. In two seasons in the Indians farm system, Adams has compiled a 11-6 record with 2 saves. Over 149 innings pitched, he has a 3.08 earned run average with 141 strikeouts. On June 1, 2010, he was named Midwest League pitcher of the week.
