Art Schult played five seasons in the majors for four different teams. He was in 59 games at first base and 56 in the outfield. He was first with the New York Yankees, second with the Cincinnati Reds next with the Washington Senators and last with the Chicago Cubs. He hit for a .254 average while in the majors.
He played for the Seattle Mariners of the Pacific Coast League in 1955, hitting at a .300 average.
His son Jim Schult is in the Mercy College Athletics Hall of Fame. A top slugger in college, Jim was drafted by the Texas Rangers in 1981. Another son, Ray Schult, played for Pace University.
As of 1994 he lived in Florida.
