Art Quirk helped lead his South Kingstown High School (RI) baseball team to 2 state championships and almost a third in the mid-fifties. In his senior year the Providence Journal selected him as their Honor Roll Boy and he went on to accept an academic scholarship to Dartmouth College, where he won All-Ivy League honors and helped his team get all the way to the Eastern Regional finals.
