Arnoldo Muñoz Palacios

Arnoldo Muñoz played for many years in Nicaragua's amateur league and for the Nicaraguan national team.

Muñoz was 3 for 17 with a double, walk and 8 strikeouts as a middle infielder for Nicaragua in the 1978 Amateur World Series. He played in the 1983 Intercontinental Cup. In the 1984 Amateur World Series, Arnoldo hit .237/.293/.263 as Nicaragua's shortstop, fielding .894. He played in the 1984 Olympics and 1985 Intercontinental Cup as well.

In Nicaragua through 2008, Muñoz ranked among the all-time leaders in hits (1,320, 10th), steals (247, 2nd), triples (43, 3rd) and strikeouts (1,039, 1st).
