Arnold Umbach pitched one game in the majors in 1964 and 22 games in 1966. His major league ERA was 3.12.
Umbach was signed by the Milwaukee Braves in 1961 and moved his way up their minor league organization. He was primarily a starter during his minor league career.
In 1965, he pitched for the minor league Atlanta team, and then in 1966 he was on the major league 1966 Atlanta Braves. He was 11 years younger than teammate Eddie Mathews and nine years younger than teammate Hank Aaron. The team went 85-77.
After baseball he became a lawyer, practicing in Alabama.
This site has a photo of the young Umbach when he pitched amateur ball for Birmingham, and the site recalls a no-hitter he pitched, getting 24 strike-outs.
