Archie "Iron Man" Campbell pitched 13 games as a rookie for the 1928 World Series champion 1928 New York Yankees. He also pitched for the 1929 Washington Senators and the 1930 Cincinnati Reds.
He started his minor league career pitching for four seasons with Wichita, then coming to the American Association for parts of four years while he was also in the majors, and continued in the minors for six years in the PCL. In 1927 he went 19-6 for Wichita, in 1929 he went 15-3 for St. Paul, and in 1933 he went 22-15 for Hollywood.
