Anthony Sanders won an Olympic gold medal for the United States in the 2000 Sydney Olympics. He also played 9 games for the 2001 Seattle Mariners who won 116 games.
He played in the minors from 1993-2006 (including an independent league in 2006). He hit 146 minor league home runs and stolen 133 bases in the minors. Most of his minor league career has been in the Toronto organization, including 1993-99 and 2003-05. He has played in both Japan and Mexico during his career.
In 2007 the Colorado Rockies hired Sanders as a coach for the Tri-City Dust Devils. 2009 will be his third season in that role.
Sanders' wife was killed in a skiing accident in 1997.
