As a senior in college, Andrew Toussaint led the Southwestern Athletic Conference with 14 home runs and his 54 RBI were one behind leader B.J. Lange. He hit .384 and made the SWAC All-Conference Team at third base. He then was selected by the Anaheim Angels in the thirteenth round of the 2004 amateur draft. Assigned to the Provo Angels, he batted .289/.411/.557 and led the club with 12 homers. He was named to the Pioneer League All-Star team at DH. In 2005, Toussaint played with the Cedar Rapids Kernels and posted a .261/.345/.501 line with 21 homers and 125 strikeouts. He was second in the Midwest League in long balls, three behind Ryan Harvey. He was also converted to the outfield that year.
