Andrei Selivanov was a minor league catcher briefly and played for the Russian national team.

Selivanov played for the GCL Braves in 1995, hitting .154/~.254/.212 in 23 games for the Atlanta Braves Rookie League club; he was their third-string catcher. Andrei hit .182/.308/.182 for Russia in the 1998 Baseball World Cup; he struggled defensively, with 7 passed balls and two errors in four games at catcher and failing to throw out anyone in 10 steal attempts.

Andrei was 2 for 11 with 5 walks and 3 steals in the 1999 European Championship and threw out 5 of 11 attempted base thieves. That earned him a spot on the tourney All-Star team. In the 2001 European Championship, Selivanov had his best tournament, batting .429/.600/.476. He led the second-place Russian squad with 7 runs and 8 walks, was third in the event in average, 4th in OBP and 8th in runs. He was the All-Star catcher once again. He was 0 for 1 with a walk and a time hit by pitch in their Gold Medal game loss to the Dutch national team. Through 2008, the 2001 championship was the brightest event in Russian national team history.

Selivanov batted .208/.240/.250 with 10 strikeouts in 24 AB in the 2003 European Championship, a far cry from two years prior.

Selivanov coached for Russia in the 2009 European Junior Championship.
