The Anderson A's were a New York Giants farm team (explain that one). They played in the 1946 Tri-State League and were stationed out of Anderson, SC. They tied for fourth in the six-team circuit at 59-81, allowed the second-most runs (742) and scored the second-fewest (633). One bright spot was the presence of future major-leaguer Sammy Meeks at shortstop - Meeks hit .313/~.379/.412, stole 18 bases, scored 83 runs and led Tri-State shortstops in fielding at that position (.934). The next season the club became an independent and was renamed the Anderson Rebels.
