Amos Alonzo Stagg was noted primarily as a college football coach but also coached college baseball and basketball. In the baseball realm, he is also noted for developing the first batting cage. He is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame and Basketball Hall of Fame. He was head coach of the University of Chicago baseball team from 1893-1912; he held the school's career win record until 2007, when Brian Baldea broke it.
