Alex Malihoudis has spent over a decade with the British national team.
Malihoudis was 0 for 2 for Britain in the 1996 European Championship B-Pool. He played high school baseball in the USA from 1995-1997. From 1997-2001, he was at Menlo College in NCAA Division III. In the 1999 European Championship, he hit .350 with 6 RBI in 7 games as the British center fielder, tying for the team lead in RBI. Alex had a knee injury in 2000 that caused him to miss the 2001 European Championship.
Malihoudis hit .190 as the British shortstop in the 2003 European Championship. He batted .167 in the 2005 European Championship but scored 5 runs in 7 games.
Alex began 2007 with Germany's Tübingen Hawks, hitting .188/.264/.229 with 16 strikeouts in 48 AB as a OF-C before returning to the British leagues. In the 2007 European Championship, Alex was 2 for 12; at that time, he was the longest-serving member of the British squad.
Malihoudis is getting a second crack at baseball on the continent in 2009 with France's Templiers de Sénart.
Outside of baseball, Alex is a DJ.
