[edit] Biographical Information
With good power and plus speed, Gonzalez went 2-5 with four RBI on Opening Day, 1995-thus solidifying himself as the Blue Jays starting shortstop. He also showed some late inning flair in June 1995, with two game winning hits-one a single to beat the Red Sox 4-3 in the 11th inning, the other a ninth inning single to beat the Orioles 6-5.
He also was the guy who booted the double play ball in the Top of the 8th Inning in the 2003 NLCS, that allowed the Florida Marlins 8 run inning to continue which ultimately led to the Chicago Cubs losing the NLCS.
