[edit] Biographical Information
A speedy second baseman, Alan Wiggins stole 70 bases in 1984 with the San Diego Padres. He was later plagued by drug problems, ended his career with the Baltimore Orioles in 1987, and died of AIDS in 1991 at age 32.
Two of Wiggins' children play college basketball. His daughter Candice is a guard at Stanford University, and his son Alan Jr. is a forward at the University of San Francisco.
