Biographical Information[edit]

Alan Fanhoni has played for the Brazilian national team.

Fanhoni played for NTT East in Japan's industrial leagues after high school. As a backup first baseman for Brazil in the 2013 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, he had one at-bat in their clinching a spot in the 2013 World Baseball Classic. As a pinch-hitter for Jean Tome, he struck out against Cristian Mendoza with one on, two out and a 1-0 lead in the 4th against Colombia. He was back with Brazil for the Classic itself, again getting one at-bat. Batting for Diego França in the 9th inning of a 5-2 loss to China, he struck out against Jiangang Lu.

For 2015, he was one of three Brazilians to sign with Stade Toulouse in the French Division I, joining Lucas Rojo and Felipe Burin. He did very well, hitting .410/.485/.663 with 21 runs in 23 games. He finished second in average (.025 behind Douglas Rodriguez), led in slugging (.062 ahead of Rodriguez), was third in OBP, tied Larry Infante for second in doubles (13) and tied Maxime Lefevre for second in home runs (two). He starred for Brazil in the 2016 South American Championship, hitting .344/.400/.500 with 8 runs and 13 RBI in seven games as they won it all. In the round-robin phase, he tied Susumu Yoza and Eduardo Zurbriggen for second in hits (8, one behind James Sommerville) and tied Ronald Luna for 4th in RBI (7). He was named the All-Star first baseman.
