Al Porto pitched four flawless innings for the 1948 Philadelphia Phillies at age 21, giving up no runs. In spite of that, he didn't stick on a team which posted an ERA of 4.08 that year under three managers.
He had gone 15-8 for Terre Haute in 1947, and was with Toronto for part of 1948, going 8-5.
