[edit] Biographical Information

Two-Gun Gettel went 193-130 in a minor league career that spanned from 1936 through 1959. His greatest success in the minors came in the Pacific Coast League in the first half of the 1950s. Al went 23-7 with a 3.62 ERA for the 1950 Oakland Oaks, placing him second in the PCL in victories. In 1952, he led the PCL with 284 innings pitched. A year later he was named the top pitcher in the league after going 24-14 with a 3.20 ERA for the Oaks. He led the league in wins, innings (309) and complete games (30).
