Al Baschang appeared in eight games in the majors. Most of his field appearances were in left field.

When he played with the 1912 Tigers in left field, the regular fielders in center and right were Ty Cobb and Sam Crawford. When he was with the 1918 Robins, the regular left fielder was Zack Wheat.

A Sporting Life issue of February 27, 1912, said he was leading the Queen City Indoor League in batting.

He managed the Evansville Evas of the Three-I League to a 67-69 record (5th place) in 1921.
