[edit] Biographical Information

Al Autry of the Atlanta Braves appeared in only one game at the Major League level. He was the starting pitcher in the second half of a doubleheader held on September 14, 1976 against the Houston Astros. He worked five innings in that game, giving up all three of the Astros' runs, including two home runs. The first home run he surrendered was a solo shot by Cesar Cedeno in the first inning. The second came from Jose Cruz in the fifth. In total, he gave up four hits (the other two were a double to Cruz in the second and a single by Cedeno in the fifth). He did walk three batters (Cliff Johnson, Cedeno and Enos Cabell) but he also managed three strikeouts as well (Bob Watson, Al Javier and Johnson). He also allowed two players to steal bases against him (Cedeno and Cabell).

At the plate, Autry flew out to center in his first at-bat off of pitcher Bo McLaughlin. In his second and last at-bat of the game, he was struck out by McLaughlin. He was replaced by pitcher Max Leon at the top of the sixth. He was the winning pitcher in a 4-3 Braves victory, however he never saw big-league play again.
