Akron is located in the north-eastern section of the state of Ohio, on the Cuyahoga River, 40 miles south of Cleveland, OH and 20 miles north of Canton, OH. It is the center of the US rubber industry and of automobile tire manufacturing, which is reflected in the name of many of the teams which have played here. It is home to the University of Akron.
