Outfielder Akira Takahashi was picked in the 14th round of the 1968 NPB draft by the Nishitetsu Lions. He played briefly for Nishitetsu in 1970-1971, going 1 for 2 with one run and one strikeout in 3 games and retired after 1972, having spent most of his career at ni-gun.
