Adonis García Arrieta

Adonis García has played for Ciego de Avila in the Cuban leagues. He hit .355/.426/.613 in 2007-2008 to finish 10th in the league in slugging. He played second base, third base, shortstop and center field that year and made the league All-Star team as the utility man. Through 2007-2008, his career average was .293. In 2008-2009, he batted .332/.397/.543 with 13 steals in 19 tries and 16 homers. He tied Giorvis Duvergel for 6th in the league in swipes and tied for 6th with 79 runs.

He hit .471/.514/.529 for Cuba in the 2009 World Port Tournament and played error-free defense at third base. He led the tourney in average (.030 over Ariel Borrero) and OBP (.030 over Yorbis Borroto) and was 4th in slugging. His 16 hits were one behind leader Yoelvis Fiss, the tourney MVP.
