The 2011 Central League Rookie of the Year Award went to Yomiuri Giants P Hirokazu Sawamura, who was 11-11 with a 2.03 ERA. He got 235 of 249 votes.
The only other players to receive votes were Hanshin Tigers first-round pick Daiki Enokida (7 votes), Kentaro Kyuko of the Yakult Swallows (4), Yomiuri second baseman Daisuke Fujimura (the stolen base leader, 3 votes) and Takeru Imamura of the Hiroshima Carp (1 vote).
