After the Asia Series was canceled for 2009, the champion clubs from Nippon Pro Baseball and the Korea Baseball Organization met instead. They faced off in a one-game event in November following the 2009 Japan Series.

In the 7th, the Yomiuri Giants rallied. 2009 Japan Series MVP Shinnosuke Abe cracked a 3-run homer. Alex Ramirez singled in two and both Yoshiyuki Kamei and Takahito Kudoh singled in runs for a 8-3 lead and a 7-run inning. Yomiuri would finish with a 9-4 win.
Kamei finished with four hits.
