2008 Hoofdklasse

The 2008 Hoofdklasse season was one where three teams fought for the best record - Neptunus, the best dynasty of recent years; defending champion Kinheim; and the Amsterdam Pirates. Despite finishing third, Amsterdam went on to win the 2008 Holland Series in a 3-game sweep of Kinheim after beating Neptunus in the playoffs. Former major leaguers to appear as players were Ivanon Coffie (Neptunus; in between stints in Taiwan and the US), Eugene Kingsale (Neptunus) and Ralph Milliard (HCAW; Milliard retired following the season). Former major leaguer Rikkert Faneyte made his debut as head coach (AKA manager) of Amsterdam, guiding them to the title.
