NLCS (4-3): Florida Marlins vs. Chicago Cubs

Most famous for the Steve Bartman incident. Bartman prevented a foul ball in the stands from being caught but it was not fan interference.

While the Bartman incident will be remembered historically, the Cubs still held a 3-1 lead in the game when the event occured. A more damaging blow to the Cubs was a tailor made double play ground ball hit to sure handed shortstop Alex Gonzalez. Gonzalez could not field the ball cleanly, and all runners were safe. Immediately following this play, Ivan Rodriguez singled to tie the game, and the rest was history.
