The 1997 International League season was the 112nd in the league's history, and ended with the Rochester Red Wings winning their IL-record 10th Governor's Cup. In addition, Red Wings manager Marv Foley became the only manager to win championships in all three US-based AAA leagues. Foley won the American Association with the Iowa Cubs in 1993 and the Pacific Coast League with the Vancouver Canadians in 1989.
