1993 Central American and Caribbean Games

The 1993 Central American and Caribbean Games were held in Ponce, Puerto Rico. The Cuban national team easily won Gold, as their staff pitched shutouts in five of six games while the offense scored 10 or more runs four times.
Cuba was led by Lourdes Gourriel (.444, a leading 12 hits), Antonio Pacheco (.429, the leader with 10 runs and co-leader with 3 homers), Omar Linares (.429, the leader with 4 doubles) and Orestes Kindelan (.308, co-leader with 3 homers). The staff included Omar Ajete (1-0, 0.00), Osvaldo Fernandez (1-0, 0.00), Rolando Arrojo (2-0), Lazaro Valle (1-0, 0.00), Ernesto Guevara (1-0, 0.00) and Orlando Hernandez (1-0, 0.00).
Winning Silver was 
Mexico (4-3), followed by 
Puerto Rico (4-3) for the Bronze.
Nicaragua finished 4th at 5-2, but had RBI leader Jose Ramon Padilla (9 RBI). Tying for last at 2-5 were 
Panama, 
Venezuela, Aruba and 
Netherlands Antilles. Panama's Rigoberto Aparicio led in average (.579) and tied for the most steals (3). Marvin Zelaya of Nicaragua led in ERA (0.00).
