The 1992 American Association season was the 85th in the league's history, and ended with the Oklahoma City 89ers winning their first championship since 1965. With the dissolution of the Triple-A Alliance, the AA expanded its championship series to a best-of-seven format.

This would be the final season for the Denver Zephyrs, as the franchise moved to New Orleans, LA to clear the way for the National League's Colorado Rockies.
