The 1991 Korean Series was the fifth Korean Series won by the Haitai Tigers in six years, as they swept the Binggrae Eagles. The Korean Series MVP was Haitai backstop Chae-keun Jang, who had 8 RBI in the four games and hit .467.

Haitai, managed by Eung-ryong Kim, had won the 1991 KBO regular-season title at 79-42-5. They had six of the ten picks as the the best at their position: C Chae-keun Jang (.235/.322/.414, 17 HR), 1B Sung-han Kim (.294/.388/.547, 23 HR, 83 RBI), 3B Dae-hwa Han (.301/.392/.565, 22 HR), OF Ho-seong Lee (.288/.394/.493, 21 HR, 25 SB, 84 RBI), OF Soon-chul Lee (.276/.373/.456, 17 HR, 83 R, a league-leading 56 SB) and P Dong-yol Son (19-4, 6 Sv, 1.55, 210 K, a pitching Triple Crown).

Binggrae (72-48-5), guided by Yeong-duk Kim, had its share of offensive leaders in batting champ Jeong-hoon Lee (.348/.417/.602, 12 3B, 17 HR, 18 SB, 81 R) and home run and RBI leader Jong-hun Jang (.345/.450/.640, 35 HR, 21 SB, 104 R, 114 RBI). Jang won the MVP. Kang-don Lee (.265/.335/.416) was named one of the league's top three outfielders despite a poor performance by his standards and not being one of the team's top producers. Their top pitchers were Yong-deok Han (17-6, 2.23) and Jin-woo Song (11-10, 11 Sv, 2.78).

In game one, on October 9, Haitai beat Binggrae 9-4, with Dong-yol Son getting the victory over Hee-min Han. The Tigers pulled off a 11-2 rout in game 2 as Keon-yeol Lee went deep twice. In game 3, on October 12, Kye-hyeon Cho shut down Binggrae in a 4-1 win over Jin-woo Song. The Series wrapped up on October 13, with Haitai rallying for five runs in the 8th and 9th for a 5-4 win, as Son got his second win over Hee-min Han.
