The 1988 World Junior Championship was the 8th World Junior Championship and the first won by the US. It was held in December of 1988 in Australia. The US beat Cuba 8-1 in the Gold Medal game. Reid Cornelius, Tyler Green, Troy Tallman and Doug Bennett were among the players on the US squad.
