The 1981 All-Star Game was held on Sunday, August 9, 1981. The National League won the fifty-second midsummer classic by a score of 5 to 4. It was the first Major League game played after the settlement of the 1981 strike, which had stopped play on June 11. The game was held at Cleveland Stadium in Cleveland, OH in front of 72,086 fans. The MVP was Gary Carter of the Expos.
