1974 Central American and Caribbean Games

The 1974 Central American and Caribbean Games were held from February 27 through March 12, 1974, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Cuba went 9-1 to take home Gold. Servio Borges managed the team, which had numerous stars. Rodolfo Puente led the Games in average (.500), Agustín Marquetti tied for the double lead (4), Armando Capiró led in RBI (15) and triples (3) and Juan Pérez Pérez was 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA to lead in wins and ERA. Wilfredo Sánchez tied for the most steals with 4.
Dominican Republic won Silver with a 8-2 record. Alberto Louis led in hits (20) and runs (13) and tied for the homer lead (1). J. Guerrero tied for the double lead (4). S. Martinez (possibly Silvio Martinez) led in strikeouts (29).
Puerto Rico placed third at 6-4 but was the only team to beat Cuba. E. Maldonado and A. Lopez tied for the most homers (1) while H. Flores tied for the most wins (3).
Venezuela was 4th at 4-5. J. Hernandez and P. Avila tied for the most swipes (4).
El Salvador was 5th at 1-8.
United States Virgin Islands were last at 1-9.
