1974 Amateur World Series

Thr 1974 Amateur World Series was the second Amateur World Series staged by the short-lived Federación Mundial de Béisbol Amateur (FEMBA) but was kept on the books after FEMBA once again joined with the FIBA. The Series was held in St. Petersburg, FL from September 13 through September 23, 1974. Very few records for the event have been located.
United States took Gold at 9-1 as the host nation. A player listed as "D. Comm" tied for the most homers (3).
Nicaragua won Silver, going 7-0 in the first phase but losing two of three to the USA in the finals. Skeeter Jarquin led the tourney with 10 RBI while Porfi Altamirano led in ERA (0.50).
Colombia claimed Bronze at 5-3. Julio Cuarezma led in average (.470) while P. Llamas tied for the homer lead at 3.
Canada,
Italy,
Chinese Taipei,
Dominican Republic and
Puerto Rico all tied for 4th at 3-5.
South Africa became the first African entry in an Amateur World Series and at least won one game, to finish at 1-7.
