1970 Central American and Caribbean Games

The 1970 Central American and Caribbean Games were the 11th Central American and Caribbean Games. They were held in Panama City, Panama from February 28 through March 14, 1970.

Flag of Cuba Cuba won its second straight Gold, this time piloted by Servio Borges. Cuba went 7-1. Fermin Laffita (.375) and Urbano Gonzalez (.304) tied for the homer lead at 2 and Laffita led with 11 RBI. Armando Capiró was 10 for 15 in a part-time role. Wilfredo Sanchez and Felix Isasi tied Laffita for the most steals (5). José Antonio Huelga was 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA while Santiago Mederos went 2-0 with a 0.50 ERA.

Flag of Dominican Republic Dominican Republic took home Silver at 6-2. They were guided by Rafael Luis López.

Flag of Mexico Mexico also was 6-2 and won Bronze.

Flag of Colombia Colombia placed 4th at 5-3. T. Moreno led in runs (11) and doubles (6) while O. Garcia went 3-0 for the best record.

Flag of Venezuela Venezuela and Flag of Panama Panama tied at 4-4.

Flag of Puerto Rico Puerto Rico was 7th with a 3-5 record.

Flag of Nicaragua Nicaragua was 8th at 1-7. C. Rosales led in triples (3).

Flag of Netherlands Antilles Netherlands Antilles finished last at 0-8. W. Pietersz led in average (.560) and hits (14).
