Top selection Steve Chilcott is one of only two first overall picks not to make the majors (Brien Taylor is the other). The player chosen immediately after Chilcott was future Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson.
In the 10th Round, the New York Yankees selected future NFL star Ken Stabler.
