The 1966 Detroit Tigers lost two managers during the course of the year. Chuck Dressen suffered a heart attack on May 16th and was replaced by coach Bob Swift. Dressen died three months later. In July, Swift was hospitalized and replaced by coach Frank Skaff. Swift was diagnosed with lung cancer and died on October 16th.
