1959 Asian Championship

The 1959 Asian Championship was the third Asian Championship. It was held at Meiji Jingu Stadium from June 7 through June 14, 1959.
Japan, the hosts, won Gold for the second time, becoming the first team to win multiple Asian Championships.
South Korea had its best finish to that point with a Silver Medal.
Chinese Taipei got its first Bronze, having taken Silver the previous time out.
Philippines was fourth for the second consecutive Championship.
