[edit] History, Comments, Contributions
After relocating from Boston prior to the season, the 1953 Milwaukee Braves were a sucess on the field and at the gate. Third baseman Eddie Mathews led the NL with 47 home runs, and pitcher Warren Spahn won a league-high 23 games. The team set a new league attendance record (since broken) of more than 1.8 million fans.
