The 1952 Braves team was the last to play in Boston, as the franchise was relocated to Milwaukee, WI for the 1953 season. The team's average attendance was a woeful 3,653, despite Braves Field's capacity of 40,000.
Both Eddie Mathews and Lew Burdette were rookies in 1952.
Star third baseman Bob Elliott was traded on April 8 to make room for Mathews. Hank Aaron was signed as a free agent on June 14, but he would not play for the Braves until 1954.
Warren Spahn led the league with 183 strikeouts.
