The 13th National High School Baseball Championship featured a total of 389 schools competing for 22 spots in the finals at Koshien. In the championship game Takamatsu High School (Kagawa) defeated Kouryo Central High School (Hiroshima) by a score of 5 - 1.
The 4th National High School Baseball Invitational Tournament featured 8 schools competing in the tournament at Koshien. In the championship game Wakayama Central High School (Wakayama) defeated Kouryo Central High School (Hiroshima) by a score of 8 - 3.

A Negro League all-star team calling themselves the Royal Giants toured Japan in 1927. The touring team went 23 - 0 - 1 against Japanese competition. It included Biz Mackey, Newt Allen, Rap Dixon and Frank Duncan.
