The 1923 International League season was the 5th straight IL season to see Baltimore win it all; they would win two more following this. Baltimore hurler Lefty Grove led the league with 186 walks but also set a league record with 330 strikeouts; the old mark by Al Atkinson (307) had stood since 1888, three name changes by the league ago. It's unclear if Grove had the best season of any of the O's staff, though, as Rube Parnham had 6 more wins, 3 fewer losses and a nearly identical ERA (.07 higher) and Tommy Thomas had a lower ERA.
