The 1917 Chicago White Sox won 100 games, a club record that still stands. Outfielder Joe Jackson hit .301 for the team, and Happy Felsch had 102 RBIs. On the mound, Eddie Cicotte anchored the league's best pitching staff, by winning a league-high 28 games and posting a league-best 1.53ERA. The Sox went on to defeat the New York Giants 4 games to 2 in the World Series.
