The Pittsburgh Burghersfeatured many players who had jumped from the Pittsburgh Alleghenys of the National League following the 1889 season, including a trio of future Hall of Famers: first baseman Jake Beckley, outfielder Ned Hanlon, and pitcher Pud Galvin. Despite these talented players, the club went on to finish sixth in the eight-team circuit.
