This was the only season that a MLB team has played in Richmond.
In the first eight games of the season, four players made their ML debuts as starting pitchers for Richmond. This is still a record: the nearest any other team has come was the 1890 Boston team, who gave debuts to four starting pitchers in their first 18 games.
