Retro-sheet even found it noteworthy enough to mention in their recap. http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/2002/B06020PHI2002.htm
Then he hit a three run homerun a bit later on.

That was quite a game.

Under that heading there is a link that says suggestions.

I've noticed you take suggestions for stats of the day. Where would I suggest something? Or do I just do it as a comment here?

The only pitcher to do it, and the first National League ballplayer of any kind to do it.

Sure this happens occasionally, but not by an American League pitcher. They only get maybe four AB's a year. The guy has two career hits and 5 career RBI. That says nothing, of course with 9 total AB, but still.

I'm speaking as a Mariners fan of course.
